OEOCE It is a misconception actually it is “Photonics”. It is just for resembling with ECE. It is counterpart of “Electronics”.

 

In a Power Plant-NTPC,NPCIL,NHPC, electricity(electron) is generated based on following equation. The Turbine works on this priciple.

 

The rotation of coil, either 1st or 2nd is by steam power of Bolier, flowing wind energy, moving water or other. So, Electricity (electron) ‘Jd’ is generated from Magnetic field ‘H’. The same in reverse happens in DC motor,Induction motor,Fan.

The generated electron when pass through a semiconductor (AlGaAsP,Inp) or cathode tube(HeNe) generates Photon. 

So,           curl H <—-> Jd current <—-> Photons.

It is bidirectional. Can Photons directly generate magnetic field or vice versa? Means applying Light and getting things attracted to it as seen in science fiction movie. To some extent it is true. During rainy season, Insects get attracted toward light. The Philips Insect Killer Blue Tube UV Pesto Flash Light works on this principle. Can there be an equation: curl H or Div. H = I(intensity of light) ?

 

Why Photon? 

Photon doesn’t give electric shock!.

1.>Photon transmits at a speed of light 3×10^8 m/sec.

2.>Photon can generate electron. Photoelectric effect—Albert Einstein—1921—Nobel prize. Photo voltaic Solar cells work on this principle.

3.>Transmitting photon in optical waveguide gives high bandwidth means, high data rate in TBps which is the requirement of developed nations.

4.> It can be wireless like Lord SUN radiation.

5.> The life expectancy is high, power requirement is low, eco-friendly and looks good.

 

Comparision to CMOS VLSI: 

MNCs like INTEL have shifted toward “Silicon Photonics” in which photon flows through logic gate and appropriate ‘1’ or ‘0’ level is obtained. 

Still why??

Open up unscrew your Laptop or Computer CPU. There is a Heat sink “cooling fan” attached with processor INTEL i3,i5,i7,i9,pentium,core2duo and other. The processor gets heat up when simulation occurs in computer or at normal start up.

“Processor गर्म  हो  जाता  है .”.

The same does not happen in Photonic Processor. It has very high Integration. It works at speed of light and at very high data rate in TBps still at a velocity lesser than light as light travels at a distance in kilometre per second.
